Zambia scored a stoppage-time equaliser to hold Namibia to a 1-1 draw in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek on Saturday afternoon.

The two teams have now accumulated a point apiece in Group K after two rounds of fixtures, following respective defeats to Guinea-Bissau and Mozambique last year.

Namibia dominated the clear-cut chances in the first half, with Willy Stephanus and Deon Hotto going closest for the hosts. The wing-wizard sent his shot into the side-netting just short of the break after being played through on goal.

The Brave Warriors continued to create the better opportunities and duly hit the front through Benson Shilonga in the 79th minute.

Shilonga was left with the easiest of finishes following good work by Hendrik Somaeb, who won the ball back in a dangerous position before teeing up his teammate for the tap-in.

Chipolopolo, though, never gave up the chase and pulled level in stoppage time through Shonga, whose free-kick attempt took a wicked deflection on its way past Virgil Vries in the Namibian goal.
