Black Stars ended their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with an impressive 3-1 victory against Sao Tome and Principe in Accra on Sunday.
Nicholas Opoku, Jordan Ayew and Baba Rahman were the scorers as Akonnor's side finished top of Group C.
Ghana secured qualification last Thursday in South Africa but the match was important for the team. It was an opportunity to appease Ghanaians, who were left disappointed with the performance in Johannesburg.
They made the most of it with an impressive performance, but the terrible pitch at the Accra Sports Stadium meant Black Stars could not record a huge win.
