Ghana defender Harrison Afful is confident his Tunisian side Esperance can overturn a 1-0 deficit against giants Al Ahly in the Caf Champions League semi-final second leg tie on Sunday.

Afful played full throttle for the Blood and Gold in their 2-1 fall in Cairo a fortnight ago and claims his hold the aces to qualify.

"We look focused and ready to get the important qualification goal that will send us to the final of the competition. Ahly are strong but we look more than determined to progress," Afful told Ghanasoccernet.com

The former Kotoko player has been key in Esperance progress in the competition this year and has played as a make-shift right-winger instead of his favourite right-back role.

Esperance last won the continent's flagship club football event in 1994 when they beat Egyptian side Zamalek.

In the other semi-final clash holders TP Mazembe, with a 3-1 advantage from the first leg, face an uphill task against Algerian giants JS Kabylie in Tizi Ouzou.

The winner bag home US$ 1.5 million and a ticket to represent the continent at the Fifa Club World Cup slated for the United Arab Emirates in December.
