Ghana midfielder Afriyie Acquah is delighted with his breakthrough season for both club and country.

The 20-year-old emerged one of the regular features in the Serie-A with Palermo while also making his senior  national team debut with the Black Stars in February’s international friendly with Chile.

Acquah who is thoroughly delighted with his run of games in the just ended campaign hopes his hardwork gets him more games under his belt.

“This season I think I played good football and I played a lot of matches,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“It was tough breaking through as a young player but thankfully I got the chance to play with the big players in the Serie-A.

“I played maybe 25 matches and I believe my hardowork got me this many games and I am looking forward to playing all the game next season.”

Acquah has played for Mine Stars, Behcem United and DC United before joining the youth side of Palermo in 2010.
