Agyemang Badu: 2014 Group D Is Group of Death

Published on: 13 June 2012

Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu says their 2014 World Cup Group D qualifier is now the group of death.

Former leaders Ghana have dropped to second place in Group D after losing 1-0 away to third placed Zambia on June 9 in Ndola and are now level on three points with the African champions.

Sudan replaced the Black stars 24 hours later at the top of Group D on four points after they were held to a goalless draw away by bottom placed Lesotho who have one point.

"Yes exactly that is the state of affairs," Agyemang Badu told MTNFootball.com.

"We lost to Zambia but we have scored seven goals against Lesotho which puts us ahead but yes it is now the group of death."

Sudan leads Group D by a point ahead of the Black Stars whom they visit on match-day-three on March 22, 2013.

Zambia on the other hand will be away to Lesotho on that same date hoping to get at least three points to stay in close touch with the top two with two rounds of games to go after match-day-three.
