Former Ghana international, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, has expressed optimism about Black Stars' chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

Ghana revived their chances of playing at the Mundial next year with back-to-back wins against Chad and Madagascar.

The Black Stars recorded a 5-0 emphatic win against Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium before a 3-0 win against Madagascar at the Al Hoceima Stadium, Morocco, all in the Matchday five and six games of the qualifiers.

Speaking on TV3, the U-20 World Cup winner praised Jordan Ayew, who captained the team and also insisted that he is confident about the team's chances of playing at the global showpiece which will be hosted in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

"He [Jordan Ayew] is very calm, but very calm. He has a strong mentality, and when you play with him, you will know the kind of guy he is," he said.

"Now the issue of captaincy has also been sorted, and you have the likes of Stephen Appiah and Asamoah Gyan there. Straight away we are going to America, the job is done," he added.

Ghana, who now sit top of Group I with 15 points, will take on Chad and Mali in the Matchday 7 and 8 games ofthe  qualifying campaign in September.
