Agyemang-Badu optimistic about Kotoko, Hearts of Oak revival

Former Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has expressed optimism about the upcoming Ghana Premier League season, particularly highlighting the potential of Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.

The two giants have struggled in recent seasons, finishing outside the top five last term.

However, their recent Democracy Cup clash, which Kotoko won 2-1, left Badu impressed.

Kotoko took the lead courtesy of Justice Blay from the penalty spot but Hearts of Oak fought back before the Porcupine Warriors sealed the win to clinch the trophy.

"For the past two years, I can say this is the first time I can say I have witnessed a great game [between] Hearts and Kotoko," he told JoySports.

"The ball was on the ground, inter-positional changes, good possession, composure and it was very nice. I think both of them can build on this and have a formidable squad. Both teams can build on this so that this year, the league will be very exciting."

The positive assessment from Badu suggests an exciting season ahead, with both Kotoko and Hearts aiming to challenge for the title. The Ghana Premier League is set to kick off on September 6.
