Agyemang-Badu set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu's injury is serious than initially thought after undergoing an MRI scan, the player has revealed.

The Ghana midfielder suffered a knee injury during the Black Stars quarter final win over Tunisia at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

The injury forced the combative player to sit out Ghana's semi-final and third-place matches against Zambia and Mali.

''After the MRI scan I realized the injury was more serious than I thought,'' he told GHANAsoccernet.com

"I can't tell you how many days I will remain on the sidelines but I know it will be long."

Agyemanag-Badu his first Nations Cup goal at this year's final in the 1-1 draw with Guinea in the group matches.
