Coach C.K Akunnor says he is impressed with the output of his players during his first official training session at Hearts of Oak on Thursday.

The ex Black Stars captain signed a two-year contract with the Phobians on Monday to replace Serbian Nebojsa Vucicevic who was sacked following a string of poor results.

Hearts have failed to win a single game since their second round league opener at Heart of Lions which now sees them a staggering nine points adrift leaders Asante Kotoko.

And Akunnor, 38, who is tasked with overturning the fortunes of the club says the early signs looks good for what will hopefully be a successful tenure.

“It was a great feeling at my first training session with the boys,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“The atmosphere was incredible and I was very impressed with what I saw in training.

“The only thing now is to organize the team for games and coupled with what I saw in training, I believe the team will do very well.”

Akunnor will lead his team out against Liberty Professionals in his first league outing as Hearts coach at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
