Akwasi Appiah says he has no fears of getting sacked but is rather bent on remaining Black Stars coach for a long time.

The ex Ghana captain replaces Serbian Goran Stevanovic after being handed a two-year renewable contract by the Ghana FA to lead the side to 2013 Nations Cup glory and a semi final berth at the 2014 World Cup.

And despite the job as Black Stars coach proving very volatile in recent years, the 51-year-old insists he is in for the long haul as he aims at winning every game as it comes.

“My target is to win every game and that is what I aim for,” he said.

“I don’t believe in fears, I believe I am here to stay. I will be here for a long time.

“I have nothing to prove, the most important thing is to make sure my targets are reached and my target is to win every game.

“Once I do that, it means the GFA’s target of qualifying and winning the Nations Cup will be met as well as making the 2014 World Cup.”

Appiah by virtue of his personal targets will be hittng the ground running when he leads the team through two tricky 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zambia in June.
