Ghana Under-23 coach Akwasi Appiah has expressed optimism over his team's success in the All African Games qualifier against Nigeria later this month.

The Black Stars deputy coach announced a strong 31-man provisional squad to begin preparations on Monday at the Tema Sports Stadium for the crucial qualifier on 26 June.

And the soft-spoken coach believes success is within the reach of his charges.

"I considered the fact that some of the players may not be able to turn up and I decided to increase the number of the squad," Appiah told Accra-based Asempa FM.

"We will begin camping tomorrow (Monday) and see will how it goes. Looking at the blend of players, I'm very sure something can come out of the team."
