Egyptian side Al Ittihad Alexandria Club have blocked defender Wilson Akakpo from leaving the country because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Head coach Talaat Youssef rejected a request from the former Berekum Chelsea defender and the other foreign imports.

Ugandan Emmanuel Okoye, Libyan Anis Salto, the Syrian Omar Field, and the Ivorian Razak Cisse.

Youssef fears they would be infected with the coronavirus, which is currently spreading in most countries of the world.

Al Ittihad Alexandria will return to training next Wednesday, until the date of the matches is decided.

The Egyptian Football Association decided to suspend all sports activities for a period of two weeks, as a precautionary measure to tackle the corona virus.
