Al Merreikh star Augustine Okrah pelted with stones by 'jealous' opposing fans in Sudanese league
Ghanaian midfielder Augustine Okrah was attacked by Al Rabta Kosti fans during and after his star performance for Al Merreikh in a Sudanese Premier League match last Wednesday.
The 22-year was stoned and insulted by the home crowd after he masterminded the 2-1 victory for Al Merreikh.
His agent, Oliver Arthur, is furious with the attack which he lamented was cowardly and an unacceptable behaviour towards an innocent professional footballer.
Okrah spent a day hospital and it is understood he will need no further treatment.
He is expected to be fit for Merreikh's mid-week home fixture against Al Nsoor.
