Ghana forward Andre Ayew wants to win titles including Asian Champions League at his new club Al Sadd.

The Qatari top-flight side unveiled Ayew as their new player last week after the former Swansea attacker put pen to paper on a two-year bumper deal.

Al Sadd, since Xavi was appointed coach in 2017, have dominated domestic competitions but have fallen short in continental competitions with their last success coming 10 years ago. Ayew knows this and is determined to help the club conquer Asia again.

“My goal is to win titles, make the fans happy, strive hard and try to win the AFC Champions League," Ayew told the club's website.

Ayew, who reportedly will earn more than $200,000 a month, was visibly happy after signing the contract last week. He was accompanied by his legendary father, Abedi Pele who during his illustrious career spent one year at Al Sadd.

"I am very happy and proud to be a member and player of Al Sadd Club, an important moment for me and my family, because of what Al Sadd club has given my family in the past, so when the club offered me a contract I agreed directly and I am sure we will win more championships," Ayew said.

"There are certainly great memories I got from my father during his time playing with Al Sadd in the past, he told me a lot about Al Sadd and Qatar, and he helped me make the right decision to play for the dam,” Ayew said.

As for his knowledge of the players of the leader, the Ghanaian professional pointed out that he played against many of the players of Al-Sadd and knows them well.

He said: “I know Baghdad Bounedjah with success and which I played against him in Africa as well as Akram Afif, Hassan Al Haydos and Saad Al Dosari I know them well with the Qatari team, and The Spaniard Santi Cazorla during his time playing in the English League, and I hope to be a big supporter for them in the upcoming benefits.”

Ayew will report for pre-season in the coming days before the club heads for Spain.
