Alarm bells ringing over Pedri

Published on: 27 February 2021

Barcelona will have been delighted with their 2-0 away win over Sevilla on Saturday, however there is some concern over young midfielder Pedri who limped off in the second half.

On 70 minutes, Pedri fell to the ground and asked to be substituted due to a hefty blow to his left leg.

With the Copa del Rey semi final second leg against Sevilla coming up, Ronald Koeman will be sweating over the fitness of the youngster, who has become a key member of the team.

The positive news was that Pedri was able to witness the closing stages of the game from the bench, suggesting that it wasn't an injury that needed immediate attention.

Nevertheless, the youngster will undergo tests with the medical team to reveal the true extent of the knock.
