Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah returned to action after a three-month injury layoff to feature in the Ghana Premier League win against Basake Holy Stars.
Amoah replaced Elvis Kyei Baffour in the 64th minute of the game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Samuel Tenedu netted the only goal from a ferocious strike, which took a deflection before evading the Holy Stars shot-stopper.
Before suffering the injury, Amoah was Asante Kotoko's leading scorer with seven goals in the Premier League.
His return from injury is a huge boost for the Porcupine Warriors, who are top of the league and will be hoping to end the season as champions.
Asante Kotoko are also through to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup and will face True Democracy in the last eight.
The talented forward joined the Kumasi-based giants at the beginning of the season and has since been a key player for the club.
