Aduana Stars Chief Executive Albert Commey has slammed critics for pampering King Faisal for dragging the Ghana FA to court.

The former Medeama chief claims the Kumasi-based deserve to be relegated and remained confident their case at the High court will be thrown out.

The two clubs have been at the centre of the storm with critics accusing the disciplinary committee of favouring Aduana in the relegation battle.

Faisal are contesting their demotion from the country’s top-flight league in a legal battle which has delayed the start of the Ghanaian top-flight league.

Critics have accused the FA of twisting the hands of King Faisal to favour Aduana whom they believed should have found themselves in the relegation net with claims they failed to pay a particularly fine within the stipulated time.

But the club’s Chief Executive Albert Commey says they did nothing untoward to be cited in the ongoing crossfire between Faisal and the FA.

“We were then waiting for a response from the disciplinary committee and, for more than 10 days when we were not hearing anything from the committee, we went ahead to pay the money in order to play it safe while waiting for the ruling on the stay of execution,” he explained to state-owned Graphic Sports

“Even before we could receive a response on the petition, King Faisal, after the climax of the First Capital Plus Premier League, also single-handedly filed another petition without taking cognisance of the procedure by which to appear before the discipline committee as clearly stipulated in Article 37.”
