Chief Executive Officer of Aduana Stars Albert Yahaya Commey has refuted claims that his outfit sold their CAF Confederation Cup match against ASEC Mimosas.

The Fire Boys were unable to book their ticket to the knock stage of the competition after losing 2-0 to the Ivorian giants at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park in Dormaa on Sunday.

In the aftermath of the match, fans of the Ghana Premier League champions chanced on the club's chief Albert Commey, alleging that he staked bet on the team to lose the game.

However during an interview with Angel FM, Mr. Commey denied the claims and stated that he never staked bet before.

"I've heard some supporters alleging that we sold the match. It's never true," he told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

"As a Muslim I don't engage in betting. If I had the opportunity I would've even shutdown all the betting companies. How can I bet on Aduana stars to lose the match," he added.

Aduana Stars will travel to Morocco to engage Raja Casablanca in the final game of Group A on Wednesday August 29.
