Benouza Mohammed has been appointed the center referee to handle Ghana’s crunch Nations Cup semi final tie with Zambia.

The Algerian referee will be assisted by Moroccan Achik Redhouane, Burundian Birumushahu Jean-Claude with Djameil Haimdoui of Algeria serving as the fourth official.

Benouza, 49 was the same official who rightly sent off defender John Mensah for a professional foul on Peter Odemwingie in the 2008 Nations Cup quarter final tie between Ghana and Nigeria.

The Black Stars aiming to win its fifth African title after a staggering 30-year wait must beat the Chipolpolo on Wednesday to ensure the continuation of this ambition.
