Ghana and Vitoria Guimaraes midfielder Alhassan Wakaso reckons the world of football will never be the same again even if they find a vaccine for COVID-19.

The mysterious virus has been responsible for over 360,000 death globally and has brought world economies down to its begging knees.

The world of football has been shattered with leagues globally left scratching their heads for ideas, innovations and new beginning to end the 2019/2020 campaign.

Germany, have led the way, proving that water can be found in stone only if you’re willing to squeeze harder and longer. The Premier League, Spanish and Portuguese have all picked a leaf from their book and have set dates for a return but Midfielder Wakaso thinks it will not just be the same without the fans.

“I have been watching the German league and all that but it’s not the same is it?,” he asked rhetorically during an interview with GHANAsoccernet.com

“The world will change and way we look at things will change and the way we travel and the way we play football will change even if they do find a vaccine"

“The fans at the stadium is a major part of the tradition, they make everyone come alive and without them it’s not the same.”

“We love our football and we want it to be back so it adds to lifting the moods and spirits but life is more important and it will take some time to get used to but hopefully we can all adapt and get going again soon.”

The Ghanaian midfielder is back training with his teammates and will be hoping to be in the team when Portuguese league resumes on the 4th of June. He hasn’t played this season due to a knee injury but is now ready to go on the final run. He added:

“It’s been a difficult season for me personal and I have never been this injured before but I’m glad am ready and hoping that I get the chance to help my teammates in a way that I haven’t been able to this season.”

Guimaraes are 6th on the league table and still with a good chance of qualifying for the champions league next season whiles giants Porto lead the pack and Benfica shadowing them in second place.
