All Stars striker Gyasi ruled out of action for five months

All Stars striker Godfred Gyasi has been ruled out of action for five months after undergoing operation on his knee.

The experienced attacker suffered the horrible injury following an innocuous challenge from an opponent during a friendly against second-tier BA United.

There remain fears, however that the damage caused to the knee might keep him out of next season.

But he has allayed those fears by confirming he will sit out of action for five months, meaning he could miss the start of next season.

“I thank God that I am still alive because at a point I thought my career had come to an end,” Gyasi said

“The injury was serious but doctors have informed me I will get well soon.

“They say I will sit out for at least five months. I have taken solace in the fact that Gideon Baah suffered a similar injury and returned to the pitch.

“I don’t want to give up. I will bounce back with the right spirit,”
