Allegri: Higuain makes the difference

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is pleased with the extra ability new striker Gonzalo Higuain has brought to the squad.

Higuain completed a switch from Napoli to the Bianconeri earlier this summer and scored twice in the Serie A champions’ 3-1 victory over Sassuolo on Saturday evening.

“Higuain makes the difference,” Allegri told Premium Sport.

Despite his quality, however, the Italian tactician did admit there are still places for his side to improve.

“We need to have more balance in defence,” he said.

“We must learn to defend ourselves in our own half and improve our management of the ball when we were at 3-0.

“[Against Sassuolo] the players did well in attack but we have to recover our skill in defence.”

Although most Calcio fans would have to admit Juventus are most likely to claim another Scudetto this season, Allegri is not thinking about the title just yet.

“Absolutely not, the season is long,” he said.

“The matches are played and won, and there may be a stronger Juventus this year but it is still a Juventus that must win three points on the field.”
