Ghana Women’s Premier League Champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies have secured a ticket to play at the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League.
The club this month has been representing Ghana in the WAFU Zone B Championship to fight for qualification to the third edition of the Champions League.
After excelling through the group stages of the WAFU Zone B Championship, Ampem Darkoa Ladies today locked horns with Delta Queens from Nigeria in the finals.
In a game played in Benin City, a solitary strike from Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah sealed a 1-0 win for the Ghana Women’s Premier League Champions.
The Ghanaian club is hence the winner of the WAFU Zone B Championship and has qualified for the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies will now prepare to make Ghana proud in the Women’s Champions League.
The club becomes the second club from Ghana to qualify for the annual tournament.
Hasaacas Ladies participated in the first edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League and finished second after losing in the finals.
