Carlo Ancelotti says he is more than happy to stay in place as head coach of Napoli, having enjoyed a solid first season in charge at the San Paolo.

The 59-year-old has guided the Partenopei to second place in Serie A this season, while Napoli were knocked out of the Champions League at the group stage and lost out to Arsenal at the quarter-final stage of the Europa League.

I'm tied to the club and I'd like to stay for another two years.

Their Coppa Italia hopes also ended at the last-eight phase, as they lost 2-0 to AC Milan.

And the vastly-experienced Ancelotti is content to remain in charge of the Gli Azzurri next season and try to help them improve further.

He told Sky Sport Italia: "I have a clause on May 30th and I hope Napoli will exercise it. I'm tied to the club and I'd like to stay for another two years. I'm happy to be here."

Ancelotti went on to praise his players for the way they reacted after a dip in form, with Napoli having won their last four games in Serie A, including a 4-1 thumping of Inter Milan on Sunday evening.

He added: "We have huge quality and many performances have shown it.

"There's great honesty and professionalism in the group, as we didn't have anything to play for in our last few games.

"This team have given great signals throughout the season. We lost a bit of ground and some of our quality mid-season, but we regained it in the final stretch."

Meanwhile, Inter are 1/8 to secure a top-four finish, with Atalanta 2/11 and AC Milan 7/4.
