Black Stars captain Andre Ayew has praised his Le Havre teammates after a spirited display against Lille to secure their first win of the year.
Having struggled since the start of 2025, the Ligue 1 strugglers stunned Lille on the road after securing a 2-1 win at Stade Pierre-Mauray.
Ayew joined action in the second half, playing a leading role as Le Havre held on to a famous win despite a late onslaught from the host.
"Plus three points. Great team spirit," wrote the Ghana captain on social media after the match.
Ahmed Maghoub opened the scoring for Le Havre seven minutes to half time before Issa Soumare doubled the advantage in the second half.
A late consolation from Chuba Akpom could not deny Le Havre from returning home with the maximum points.
The victory lifts the Sky and Navy above Montpellier at the foot of the table.
