Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew has backed interim Marseille coach José Anigo to succeed.
The Marseille sporting director was appointed in a caretaker position last December following the dismissal of Élie Baup.
The French giants have endured a difficult campaign this season and currently sit a staggering 19 point behind leaders Paris St-Germain.
However the Ghanaian international, who is still few days away from returning to the pitch, is confident Anigo can turn the scales around, offering his unflinching support.
“"José, I know him very well. I think he really has the skills to lead Olympique de Marseille,†Ayew said
“If he needs me, I'll be there. But I especially want to be on the ground.
In the 4-4-2, I can play several positions behind the two strikers, left or right. This is not a problem for me."
Anigo, 52, has a long association with OM, having represented the club as a player and having guided them to the UEFA Cup final in 2004 as coach before becoming a sporting director.
