Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew says he is far from a football supernova despite recent improved performances for Olympique Marseille.

Ayew has been key for the French champions in all competitions and he is the club's second top scorer with four goals.

"My adaptation has been a little faster than expected, but I do not consider that anything has been accomplished," the 20-year-old told the club's website.

Nothing is done, there are many players and a lot of competition. I am still very young, and I'm trying to get into the starting line-up as often as possible."

Ayew has won over the Marseille faithful after returning to the Stade Velodrome this season from then Ligue 2 side Arles Avignon.

"The key for me is to play as much as possible, to continue to progress, gain experience and the confidence of my coach. After that, it's true that it's going pretty well, I must continue and try to be in the first eleven frequently, which is very important for confidence."
