Andre Ayew's season to end early for shoulder operation

Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew is considering playing his last game of the season in France on Saturday to undergo a shoulder surgery.

The Marseille playmaker will be in action in the French League Cup final game against Lyon before taking a decision on the injury.

The 22-year, who is the club's second highest scorer, has been playing through the pain barrier with the long standing problem since February.

The league cup final game against Lyon is their only chance of playing in European competition next season, Ayew will be key for Saturday's game.

But with their league title chances over, Ayew will not dismiss the possiblity of undergoing the operation and forfeiting the remaining matches for the club in the league.

"This is something I will discuss with the coach and the medical staff," Ayew said when asked about the likelihood of an operation.

This match on Saturday could also be his last for Marseille has been linked with several clubs including Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.
