Angola coach Pedro Goncalves has expressed his admiration for the Ghanaian crowd that cheered the Black Stars to victory against his side last year at the Kumasi Baba Yara Stadium.
Ghana were playing for the first time after the 2022 World Cup in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. A late strike from Antoine Semenyo was enough to secure all three points for the Black Stars.
Despite the disappointment of the Palancas Negras, the coach has acknowledged the enthusiasm of the fans
"One year and a half, we felt the atmosphere of Kumasi, the stadium, the crowd was lovely, I think Kumasi is the passion side of African football.
Pedro Goncalves is however preparing his team to stage revenge against Ghana as both sides clash on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Baba Yara Stadium at 16:00 GMT.
The Black Stars are currently on a two-game winning run after beating Mali and the Central African Republic (CAR) in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and are poised to build on that to secure victory.
Angola also won one and drew another in their last two competitive game setting the stage for an exciting encounter.
