Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan is set to mark his debut for Beitar Jerusalem in their Israeli Premier League clash against Hapoel Beer-Sheva on Monday.

Annan signed for the Black and Yellow lads on a six-month deal with the obligation to extend it for another year if he impresses.

The 32-year-old joined the Jerusalem-based outfit as a free agent after ending his three-year stay with Finnish champions HJK Helsinki at the end of last term.

The former Hearts of Oak ace was expected to make his bow last weekend for their game against Maccabi Haifa but was surprisingly left out of the squad by coach Nir Klinger.

But reports from Jerusalem indicate that Annan has caught the eye of Klinger and has been named in the final squad-list for Monday's showdown at Hapoel Beer-Sheva.

The diminutive midfielder is expected to use his experience to help the Jerusalem-based side side to clinch a play-offs berth.

Annan has featured for clubs including Rosenborg BK, Schalke 04, Vitesse, Osasuna HJK and a host of others.

He was part of the squad that qualified Ghana to its maiden appearance at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Annan amassed 67 caps for Ghana's senior national team and scored two goals.
