Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has revealed that AFC Bournemouth has set its sights on making a deep run in the Emirates FA Cup, with the team secretly targeting a semifinal appearance at Wembley.
Semenyo, who scored a powerful penalty in Bournemouth's 2-0 victory over Everton in the fourth round, believes that winning the FA Cup would be the perfect way to cap off the team's impressive season.
"[The FA Cup] would be the cherry on top of the cake for us. We know we're doing well this season. The manager finds [a cup run] very important, all of us as individuals find it important," he said.
Bournemouth, currently seventh in the English Premier League, has advanced to the fifth round of the FA Cup and will face Wolves in March. Semenyo emphasised that the team is taking the competition seriously and is eager to make a lasting impression.
"It [would] be lovely to reach a semifinal where we're playing at Wembley," Semenyo added.
"This is a dream of mine personally, and I think for the team, we'd love to have a cup run and see how far we can go. We just have to wait and see."
