Appeals committee ruling credits AshGold with three points

The Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association has set aside a disciplinary decision that declared AshantiGold losers in a league match.

A Disciplinary Committee ruling in May, 2011 credited Mighty Jets 3 points and 3 goals following a protest against AshantiGold in their match-day 25 fixture on 24 April at the Akosombo Park.

The ruling by the DC also deducted AshantiGold 3 points and 3 goals over the use of strips.

However, an appeal by AshantiGold, has been upheld with the Committee explaining that their failure to present their away strip at the pre-match technical meeting constituted an offence punishable under Article 34 (1) (k) of the Regulations.

"The appeal succeeds and the decision of the Disciplinary Committee is hereby set aside," the ruling by the Appeals Committee read.

"The results of the said match should stand."

By this, AshGold will be in second place on the league table and Mighty Jets  will have three points deducted from their accumulated points.

The Premier League Board is yet to release the confirmed league table for the 2010/2011 season.
