Assistant Black Stars coach Akwasi Appiah is adamant Ghana has got a future gem in midfielder Mohammed Abu.

The 20-year-old was recently named Player of the Year at Stromsgodset and has for some time now been part of the Black Stars setup.

His rising star has been acknowledged by the ex Black Stars captain who is tipping the Manchester City loanee for future greatness.

“He is a very good midfielder, we have invited him twice and anytime he did well in the games he has played,” Appiah told Takoradi-based Melody FM.

“He is a very disciplined player, young and has got many years ahead of him and we believe we can benefit immensely from him in future.

Abu is very much in the frame to make the final cut for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations where Ghana battles Botswana, Mali and Guinea in Group D.
