English giants Arsenal have dropped Ghanaian youth defender Daniel Boateng from their Uefa Champions League squad for the knock-out phase.

The 21-year-old enterprising center-back is among five players who have been dropped by the Gunners (including Emmanuel Frimpong who signed for Barnsley).

Boateng, who capped the Gunners at U19 and U21, left the Emirates Stadium to join Scottish side Hibernian on loan on the final day of the Uefa Champions League and manager Arsene Wenger took his name out of their squad.

Though Boateng was in squad for the group phase he did not play any game for the club and had not played a competitive league game this season before he left to to the Easter Road Stadium.
