Arsenal legend Thierry Henry: Man Utd must turn to Mourinho

Published on: 31 January 2016

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has told Manchester United to make Jose Mourinho their next manager.

Mourinho was axed by Chelsea after a miserable run of form but Arsenal legend Henry is sure he can guide United to the top again.

He told The Sun: "When Alex Ferguson retired from management three years ago, not a single Manchester United fan would have thought Jose Mourinho could be the new boss.

"Now, at least 60 per cent of Old Trafford supporters would take him tomorrow — and that figure will rise to 80 per cent if United don’t qualify for the Champions League.

"The club are crying out for success and Mourinho guarantees that, in spite of everything that happened at Chelsea this season.

"He is still an amazing coach and United have got to do something because it is simply not working for Louis van Gaal.

"If Manchester City get Pep Guardiola and Diego Simeone or Jorge Sampaoli go to Chelsea, which is possible this summer, United have to react. They can’t just carry on as they are."
