Arsenal, Man City deals loom for Kotoko left-back Abdul-Rahman

Published on: 04 March 2012

English giants Arsenal and Manchester City are lining up offers to sign Asante Kotoko defender Baba Abdul-Rahman.

The 18-year-old has grown to become one of the sought after players in the Ghanaian topflight since his move from Division Two club Dreams FC.

Abdul-Rahman is currently awaiting documentation to enable him travel to London for trials with the Gunners.

Manchester City who are also keen on the left-back are lurking to pounce once the opportunity arises while Italian club Parma fell short of his asking price.

The national youth player’s growing reputation will make it extremely difficult for Kotoko to hold on to one of their priced assets especially with serious transfer activities on the horizon at the end of the current European season.

What is good about this news!!?? A star player in our league is moving to make someone's league better than ours, and we are happy? The local soccer league can never rival any in Africa or even Europe due to this migrations. God bless Ghana.

Baba, Arsenal is the right place for you. Dont listen to supporters of the team in Ghana that signs a 40+ player who goes about slapping. I bet you Abdul you will make it. Insha Allahu.

He is not 18 but 16 years, If he does not increase his age, it will take a longer period to feature for the team.

Guys what the lad 'nana' said was not proper but anyone on here will be a big liar and in self denial if they can say boldly that all Ghanaian players and in fact all players in Africa, most players in South America cheat in terms of their age.Everybody knows that in this part of the world where there is no proper documentation, age cheating is no news.Happy for the lad but I think his age is not really an issue here. The subject at hand is that he is getting trials outside and we should be happy about thata:he might succeed and that will help the national team.
