Arsenal missing out on Europe is disappointing – Thomas Partey

Ghana International Thomas Partey has said he feels disappointed after failing to help his Arsenal side clinch a place in European club football next season.

The Gunners for the first time in many years missed out entirely in playing in Europe after finishing 8th on the Premier  League table at the end of the season.

While not playing in the Champions League has lingered for a while, both Partey and Arsenal were hoping that their strong finish to the season which saw them win the final five games of the campaign was going to be enough but they were pipped by Tottenham Hotspurs for the final spot in the Europa Conference League on the last day of the season.,

Speaking to the club’s official website on the final day of the season, Partey said: "I think we had their support today which was very beautiful," he said. "We were encouraged and we were down they supported us, they pushed us up and at the end this is what we need. We are very grateful.

"We had a good game and everybody gave their best, and at the end it’s part of the game, we have to keep working hard, we have to prepared, we have to end well and we did well, so we have to be prepared for the next season.

"[Missing out on Europe] is disappointing, but now we have the opportunity to come back next season and fight for everything we can."

The final day of the season was the first time Thomas Partey was finally able to run out in front of our fans at Emirates Stadium against Brighton & Hove Albion.

It was the first time the Ghanaian had played in front of our supporters since joining from Atletico Madrid last summer, and he loved every second of it.

He hopes to stay injury-free and help the Gunners compete for the top titles and get back into the Champions League once again.
