According to The Sun, while Arsenal had planned to sign German centre-back Shkodran Mustafi (27) away, during last summer window, former Valencia and Sampdoria player ended up staying put because of a lacking of offers. Mustafi started playing for Gunners in September 2016, and is currently on a deal with North London side until June 2021.
