Arsenal youngster Edward Nketiah earns England U19 call-up
Eddie Nketiah scored twice for Arsenal after coming on as a substitute

Arsenal striker of Ghanaian descent Edward Nketiah has been called-up into the England U19 national team.

The young forward has been handed a call up by coach Keith Downing in a 23-man squad for the qualifiers for the Euro Under 19 championship in Finland next year.

Nketiah has been in blistering form for Arsenal in the League Cup scoring twice against Norwich whilst he has also played in the Gunners Europa League games.

The England Under-19 side will face Faroe Islands this night (Wednesday), after which they will lock horns with Iceland and Bulgaria in subsequent weeks.

Nketiah who was born in Lewisham made his international debut for England at the under-18 level against Saudi Arabia on 22 March 2017. He scored the second goal for England in the 57th minute as they won 2–0.

He also netted a hat-trick in his next game for England against Qatar U19.

Nketiah is eligible to play for Ghana at senior level.
