Frimpong happy with Arteta signing

Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong believes that Mikel Arteta is going to enhance the quality of the squad.

The Spanish midfielder arrived from Everton on transfer deadline day as a replacement for his compatriot Cesc Fabregas, who left for Barcelona earlier in the summer.

Arteta, 29, is rated as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League following his impressive performances for the Toffees over the last six-and-a-half years.

And Frimpong says that he is happy that manager Arsene Wenger signed him this summer.

"I think that Arteta coming in a good thing," the 19-year-old told Sky Sports News. "He is a great player.

"Since he has been here (at the Emirates), he has been giving me some advice on how to defend and play better. I think it is good to have more Spanish players in the team."

The Gunners have made a disappointing start to the 2011/12 Premier League campaign and lost 8-2 to Manchester United at Old Trafford last month.
