AS Roma are delighted to unveil the club’s New Balance home kit for the 2021-22 campaign. The shirt, the first collaboration between the club and world-renowned sports manufacturer, is a bespoke design for the Giallorossi that introduces a timeless interpretation of the club’s signature look.
It is available to pre-order through the club’s official store from Wednesday July 14.
It will officially go on sale to the public on July 23.
The club’s famous colour palette is firmly on display in the rich red shades and yellow accents of the home design – the two colours being so synonymous with both Roma and the city of Rome.
A subtle tonal pin-stripe design is also visible on the front of the shirt, which is accompanied by matching shorts.
The unique design incorporates a v-neck collar and ribbon cuff details in yellow, whilst an outer label features the words ‘La Lupa’; an historic nickname of the Capitoline team, and a nod to the iconic female wolf symbol around which the city’s lore – and the club’s logo - is built.
Some traditional rich red socks are completed with coloured hoops to match the overall home strip design.
“It’s always exciting when a new kit is revealed, especially this season,” said club captain Lorenzo Pellegrini.
“The new design was popular with the team from the moment we saw it and we are all looking forward to wearing it.”
The club’s goalkeeper kit has also been unveiled: a classic black design with a grey speckled effect.
New Balance has applied cutting-edge design technology across all 2021-22 shirts to ensure superior performance.
Developed using innovative NB Dry technology, the shirts will keep players fresh and dry from the first whistle to the last.
Kenny McCallum, General Manager of New Balance Football, added: “New Balance wanted to fully respect AS Roma’s traditions with a classic, unique silhouette.
“The club’s famous yellow and red palette is one of the most iconic sights in world football and this year’s bespoke design aims to celebrate that.”
The release is part of New Balance’s ‘Only Roma’ campaign for the season ahead, in recognition of Roma as a way of life.
It is available to pre-order from Wednesday at the club’s official store – both online and in physical locations around Rome.
