Kwadwo Asamoah came off the bench to provide the assist for the winning goal in Udinese’s 2-1 win over Stade Rennes in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The 22-year-old who replaced Fabrini in the 70th minute took only 13 minutes to make a huge impact in the game by providing the telling pass to Amero who made no mistakes in planting the ball beyond Costil in the Renne goal for the match winner.

The Zebras had fallen behind to a 19th minute Youssef Hadji strike but drew level through skipper Antonio Di Natale in the 39th minute.

Fellow Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu again put in a solid performance throughout the 90 minutes alongside defender John Boye who unfortunately was on the losing team.

The win thus places the Italian club second in Group  I behind Atletico Madrid who recorded a 2-0 win over Celtic after match day 1.

Elsewhere, Full-back Daniel Opare played full throttle in Standard Liege's 0-0 stalemate at Hannover 96.

Former Tema Youth midfielder Richard Annang did not travel with Romanian side Vaslui which scored two second half goals to deny ten-man Lazio in a 2-2 draw.

Teenage striker Yaw Asante was on the bench for Birmingham City which lost 3-0 to Portuguese side SC Braga at St Andrew's Park.

Midfielder Seidu Yahaya helped Maccabi Haifa to nick a slim 1-0 win over Cypriot side AEK Larnaca.
