Asamoah Gyan has said his final goodbye to the board of Al Ain as he gets set to travel to China to join Shanghai SIPG.
The Black Stars captain received the blessing of the club's board who have accepted an offer from the ambitious Chinese club for the sale of the prolific striker.
Gyan paid glowing tribute to the fans of Al Ain in a meeting with the club’s top hierarchy on Tuesday.
A press conference has been called to officially announce the former Sunderland hitman’s departure from the club later this evening.
The club coached by former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson have had an offer made for the Black Stars captain accepted by Al Ain.
Gyan will now be going over to China to seal yet another sensational move.
The 29-year-old has issued his heartfelt thank you to the Al Ain club and its fans who offered him overwhelming support in his four-year stay in the UAE.
"I want to really thank the entire Al Ain club and its fans for the support they have me in my time here," Gyan told his official website AsamoahGyan3.com after his meeting with the board.
"It is however time to embrace a new challenge and hopefully this new challenge will be as successful or even better than my time here at Al Ain.â€
Asamoah Gyan joined Al Ain on an initial loan deal from English club Sunderland in 2011.
He has previously played in France for Stade Rennes and in Italy with Udinese.
