Striker Asamoah Gyan is confident he can score 25-goals to help Al Ain retain their UAE Pro League title.

The Ghana star scored an incredible 22 goals in 18 appearances for the United Arab Emirates side during a season’s long loan last term to win the golden boot

But after sealing a permnnet move to the gulf  from Sunderland, the 26-year-old has set an audacious target of ending the season as one of the highest scorers in the world.

“I want to do things well and be amongst the highest scorers in the world at the end of the season,” Gyan said

“Possibly, I might do more and more and go past my record last season but the aim is not to score less than 25 goals,”

“It all boils down to absolute determination and hard work and with God on my side, I can hit my target,”

“This season will be a bit more difficult for me. Most of the defenders will be very strong on me,”

“My tactic this season is just to be fit and the quality will be there and it will show.”

Gyan is on a pre-season training tour with Al Ain in Austria.
