Asamoah Gyan to launch Foundation on Monday

The Asamoah Gyan Foundation will hold a press conference on Monday as they unleash plans for next year's charity projects.

The Sunderland hit man will launch the multi-million charity project in Accra on 29 August ahead of the Ghana's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Swaziland.

He hopes to find the resources to provide decent portable water for many deprived communities and villages in his homeland and promoting greater access to girls’ education.

The noble gesture by Gyan has been hailed by many soccer fans as he follows in the footsteps of compatriot Stephen Appiah and Michael Essien who have run successful projects in the past.

"The press conference will be geared toward informing the general public on the upcoming Foundation launch in January next year," CEO of the Foundation, Samuel Anim Addo told GHANAsoccernet.com

The press briefing will take place at the Alisa Hotel, North Ridge, Accra at 10:30 GMT
