Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan will visit his team-mates ahead of the  2014 opening World Cup qualifier against Lesotho on Friday.

The 26-year-old has arrived in the West African country after he netted 22 goals to win the Golden Boot award in his debut season in the Gulf with Al Ain.

The on-loan Sunderland man will join his colleagues in camp to motivate them ahead of the qualifier against the Crocodiles at the Baba Yara stadium.

Asamoah called temporal time on his international career after coming in for heavy criticism following his penalty miss against Zambia at the 2012 African Cup of Nations.

But he has indicated his willingness to return to the national team when he fully recovers from the trauma.
