Asamoah Gyan to storm Ghana streets today to fight Coronavirus

Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has joined the fight against the coronavirus outbreak and is set to distribute sanitizers, face masks and other health products to the people in Accra on Thursday.

The former Black Stars captain earlier called on other sports stars and personalities to join in the fight against the Covid-19 which continues to rise in the West African Country.

Gyan through a post on social media said,“ As an icon, people look up to me. I urge all celebrities, all those who are fortunate, let’s give back to the community because this is the time that people need up. People need our support,”

“Let’s do this to help the government because the government cannot do this alone. We can’t depend on the government, these are our lives. We have to protect one another; we have to stick together.”

“Let’s take precaution, stay at home, use your hand sanitizers, let’s do everything possible to protect ourselves,”.

As General captain of the Black Stars, Gyan is leading the way with his donations  for other football stars to  also join.

He is set to distribute the sanitizers, facemasks and other health products to people in Accra which is worth millions of cedis.

The coronavirus cases in Ghana is rapidly growing with 68 positive tests confirmed after just 11 days since the first two cases were announced.

Four people have died from the virus in Ghana.
