Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak to know CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup opponents today

The draw for the 2022-2023 CAF Interclub competitions Preliminary Rounds will take place today August 9, 2022 in Cairo, Egypt.

This draw will mark the beginning of a journey to the 2022/23 season of both CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.

Ghana is being represented by league champions Asante Kotoko SC and FA Cup winners Hearts of Oak in two competitions respectively.

This is the first time since 2008 the two most glamorous teams from the country will be participating in the continental competitions at the same.

Kotoko will begin their campaign from the First Preliminary Round whilst Hearts will commence their adventure from the Second Preliminary Round.

The Porcupine Warriors can't face clubs such as TP Mazembe, Al Ahly SC, title holders Wydad AC, Raja Club Athletic, Mamelodi Sundowns and Espérance de Tunis at this stage.

The Phobians are exempted from the First Preliminary Round and will enter the competition from the next stage before the final play-off round.

The draw ceremony will begin at 14:00 GMT.
