Asante Kotoko chairman to go solo on club's management

Asante Kotoko chairman Dr K.K Sarpong says he will henceforth be acting unilaterally for lack of trust of his management team.

Dr. Sarpong is furious over persistent confidential leaks to the media especially with transfer related issues.

Some media reports have quoted authoritatively of a $400,000 cash injection to Kotoko following the planned sale of midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei to TP Mazembe.

This report has however been completely rubbished by the renowned businessman.

Dr. Sarpong in stressing further poured his disappointment over the conduct of his management for leaking vital information to the press and now says he will be acting independently henceforth.

“The corporate world is even worried with such reports out there,” he told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

“I have informed my management that I will no longer tell them of things in the offing.

“Because even before things materialize, they get out there and even twisted in the media.

“It is the same thing that happened to the Toure (Ahmed) deal in Egypt eventually the deal did not happen.

“Supporters should have confidence in me and I know the owner of the club has absolute confidence in me.

“So I should be left to do my work and be rest assured that Kotoko’s affairs are in good hands.”
