Asante Kotoko closing in on Medeama attacking midfielder Godfred Abban

Published on: 23 August 2024

Asante Kotoko SC are chasing the signature of Medeama SC midfielder, Godfred Abban, for the upcoming football campaign, GHANAsoccernet.com understands

Abban's impressive form in the Ghana Premier League last season caught the eye of Kotoko's coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, who is keen on adding him to his squad.

He played 19 matches in the Ghana Premier League and scored twice. He also featured in the CAF Champions League on two occasions against Remo Stars and CR Belouizdad.

Kotoko see Abban's creativity and goal-scoring ability as valuable assets to strengthen their squad.

Abban, on loan at Tamale City from Medeama in the 2022-23 season, had a productive season with 1 goal and 5 assists in 25 appearances.

With 8 months left on his contract, it's unclear if Medeama will sell the talented midfielder.

Abban has become a key player for Medeama since joining them in 2020 from second-tier side Asokwa Deportivo.

Kotoko's offer has made things interesting, and Medeama now has a decision to make - sell Abban or keep him.
